Direct Primary Care Practice Coming to Hamilton County
The practice, located at 15229 Westfield Boulevard, will offer three tiers of “Care Packages” for adults, along with separate packages for children and newborns. Members may choose the package that best fits their needs and pay a monthly, semi-annual, or annual fee. The packages are primarily focused on wellness and prevention, and generally include office visits, immunizations, preventive exams and more. Each package is tailored to fit the needs of the individual in order to provide the best care possible. Prices for additional services will be clearly stated in a simplified menu-format and posted online. In order to maintain a low patient-to-doctor ratio, limited spots are available for each package tier.
“We found that in today’s healthcare system, we are able to either serve patients or insurance companies – but not both,” said Dr. Bob Habig, a founding partner of Westfield Premier Physicians and the first family physician in the town of Westfield. “We love taking care of people, but all too often visits are cut short, patients are hesitant to make necessary appointments due to fear of hidden costs, and we spend too much time working with insurance companies. We decided it was time to make a change. Time to focus on our patients, provide them with the quality care that they deserve, and get back to the way a family practice should operate.”
Direct Primary Care is one of the fastest-growing healthcare movements in the country. More than 5,000 medical practices have embraced this model, which is supported by the American Academy of Family Physicians. To ease the transition from an insurance-based practice to a Direct Primary Care practice, Westfield Premier Physicians partnered with Freedom Healthworks. Freedom Healthworks is a Direct Primary Care consulting and management firm headquartered in Indianapolis.
According to Doug and Jayne Ann Wilson, Westfield residents and patients, “This way of practicing medicine, while new in some ways, is more accurately described as a return to a time when the relationship between the doctor and patient was paramount and the key to a shared approach to health. This is exactly what we were looking for.”
The practice will grand open on Dec. 1. To learn more, please visit www.westfieldpremier.com.
