PODCAST: The Disillusionment of Early Career Physicians

The Disillusionment of Early Career Physicians

This week on Healthcare Americana, Freedom Healthworks’s CEO and co-founder, Christopher Habig, talks with Luke Pittman, MD, MBA, co-founder of Collective Works and a primary care physician who chose an alternate route after medical school.
Physician frustration doesn’t just affect physicians who have been practicing a long time. Early career doctors are realizing that their career path isn’t all that they expected.
Dr. Luke Pittman knew he wanted to be a doctor since an early age, but as he progressed through medical school and residency his vision of being a doctor changed dramatically. Peer pressure to sign employee contracts set off warning alarms to him and being a cog in a hospital wheel didn’t hold any appeal. Dr. Pittman tells us about his experiences in the medical school system and why he chose to follow his own path.
